Make a present to someone special, or make a Valentine’s present to yourself — crochet a heart.
I decorated my mug cozy with a heart (without fiber fill), and made several hearts of different colors and sizes — to place them around the house.
The description below is for a small heart; depending on yarn weight, it measures 6-8 cm.
You will need just a few grams of yarn: leftovers, different colors — this heart does not have to be red.
Make 2 separate parts then combine them.
First part:Ch 4, join with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Single crochet (sc) 6 times into the center of the ring = 6 sc
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around 6 times – 12 sc.
Rnd 3: *sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * around 6 times – 18 sc.Rnd 4: sc around – 18 sc.
Rnd 5: *sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * around 3 times – 21 sc.
Cut the thread, leave a long “tail” – about 15—20 cm for connecting the “cups”, put it aside.
We need to make another “cup” – exactly the same way.
Rnd 6: Now we can
combine the parts: return the stitch from the first cup to the hook and
continue to sc on the first cup, make 18 sc, ( 3 stitches short of
finishing the row), skip those 3 sts and continue to work with the
second cup: skip 3 sts, then 18 sc
around = 36 sc
Connect the parts in the middle with the “tail” you left after making the first part by sc stitches
Rnd 8: * Sc2tog, sc in next 7sc ; rep from * around 4 times – 32 sc.
Rnd 9: * Sc2tog, sc in next 6sc ; rep from * around 4 times – 28 sc.
Rnd 10: * Sc2tog, sc in next 5sc ; rep from * around 4 times – 24 sc.
Rnd 11: * Sc2tog, sc in next 4sc ; rep from * around 4 times – 20 sc.Rnd 12: * Sc2tog, sc in next 3sc ; rep from * around 4 times – 16 sc.
Fill with fiber.
Rnd 13: * Sc2tog, sc in next 2sc ; rep from * around 4 times – 12 sc.
Rnd 14: * Sc2tog, sc in next sc ; rep from * around 4 times – 8 sc.
Rnd 15: * Sc2tog, ; rep from * around 4 times – 4 sc.
Tie and cut the yarn, hide the end inside. The heart is ready!
